Virus to kill HIV Virus

An Australian researcher has developed a gene therapy that turns the HIV virus against itself. The inhibitor (a modified protein) has been tested in the lab and the results were quite promising. Such a treatment could give people infected with HIV the possibility of maintaining a healthy immune system, which means they wouldn't develop AIDS. This is a fantastic breakthrough, but there is still more work to be done.

Jugular Venous Pressure Measurement (JVP)

Jugular Venous Pressure Measurement (JVP)

The technique for examination for CVP (central venous pressure)
Patient reclining with head elevated 45 °
Measure elevation of neck veins above the sternal angle (Lewis Method).

Add 5 cm to measurement since right atrium is 5 cm below the sternal angle.

Normal CVP <= 8 cm H2O

Light should be tangential to illuminate highlights and shadows.
Neck should not be sharply flexed.

Using a centimeter ruler, measure the vertical distance between the angle of Louis (manubrio sternal joint) and the highest level of jugular vein pulsation. A straight edge intersecting the ruler at a right angle may be helpful.

If the internal jugular vein is not detectable, use the external jugular vein. The internal jugular vein is the preferred site.

5 spine-healthy tips

Why color of Water differs from Place to place

The next time you are standing
by a lake, pond or the ocean, ask
yourself why it looks the way it
does. What makes oceans and lakes
look blue or green and sometimes
black? Why do rivers most often
appear brown? When you cup some
of the water in your hand, it's
colorless, but look at the body of
water and it's a color. The most
obvious answer is that it reflects
the sky since you can see reflections
of clouds also. But reflection is only
part of the answer.

It is true that part of the light you
see is a surface reflection of sky
light. The amount of this sort of
reflection, though, depends on a
number of things such as your
viewing angle. On the other hand,
much of the color you see comes
from the water's depths.

White sunlight contains all colors..
Water absorbs some of these colors
more than others. But you need a
lot of water to notice this effect -
which is why water cupped in your
hand has no color at all. In a large
body of water though, the water
molecules quickly absorb red light,
but they don't absorb blue light
as well. So in this case, more blue
light is transmitted through the
water. It's actually the same
principle behind why the sky is

The blue effect is often increased
because ocean and lake water
usually contains floating particles
of dirt, and dead and living plants
and animals. They help reflect the
blue light back upward - so that the
lake or ocean looks blue. The blue-
green of tropical waters is due
entirely to absorption of red light
rather then suspension of particles.
It's a different blue than the blue
of the oceans off the northeast
coast, whose blue is caused by
suspended particles and plants.

So now we know why some bodies of
water appear blue, but what about
the other water colors, like gray,
brown and black? Different colors
can be produced by specific things
suspended in the water. Mud acts in
the opposite way from water -- it
reflects red light more than blue. So
muddy water looks brown. Since
rivers are big transporters of mud,
they usually appear brown. Peat
dissolved in water absorbs almost
all the light that touches it - so a
lake full of peat may look black. The
ocean often usually looks gray on a
stormy day. Partly, that's reflected
gray sky - but it's also because
clouds filter out a lot of the sun's
red light before it ever reaches the

Colors of water can be pretty
distinctive. The Black Sea is so
named because of its color, a very
dark almost black color. In this
case, it's the almost constant fog
over the Black Sea that absorbs
incoming light and makes the sea
appear black. It was enough to make
the Turks and many other sailors
want to avoid what they saw as an
evil looking sea!

Human Brain Analysis - Man vs. Woman......A MUST READ!

Women - Multiple process
Womens brains designed to concentrate multiple task at a time.
Women can Watch a TV and Talk over phone and cook.
Men - Single Process
Mens brains designed to concentrate only one work at a time. Men can not watch TV and talk over the phone at the same time. they stop the TV while Talking. They can either watch TV or talk over the phone or cook.

Women can easily learn many languages. But can not find solutions to problems. Men can not easily learn languages, they can easily solve problems. That's why in average a 3 years old girl has three times higher vocabulary than a 3 yeard old boy.

Mens brains has a lot of space for handling the analytical process. They can analyze and find the solution for a process and design a map of a building easily. But If a complex map is viewed by women, they can not understand it. Women can not understand the details of a map easily, For them it is just a dump of lines on a paper.

While driving a car, mans analytical spaces are used in his brain. He can drive a car fastly. If he sees an object at long distance, immediately his brain classifies the object (bus or van or car) direction and speed of the object and he drives accordingly. Where woman take a long time to recognize the object direction/ speed. Mans single process mind stops the audio in the car (if any), then concentrates only on driving.

When men lie to women face to face, they get caught easily. Womans super natural brain observes facial expression 70%, body language 20% and words coming from the mouth 10%. Mens brain does not have this. Women easily lie to men face to face.
So guys, do not lie face to face.

If a man have a lot of problems, his brain clearly classifies the problems and puts them in individual rooms in the brain and then finds the solution one by one. You can see many guys looking at the sky for a long time. If a woman has a lot of problems, her brain can not classify the problems. she wants some one to hear that. After telling everything to a person she goes happily to bed. She does not worry about the problems being solved or not.

Men want status, success, solutions, big process, etc... But Women want relationship, friends, family, etc...

If women are unhappy with their relations, they can not concentrate on their work. If men are unhappy with their work, they can not concentrate on the relations.

Women use indirect language in speech. But Men use direct language.

Women talk a lot without thinking. Men act a lot without thinking.

List of wars with highest cost of causalities/deaths tolls across the world.

List of wars with highest cost of causalities/deaths tolls across the world.

This list of wars by death toll includes deaths that are either directly or indirectly caused by war. These numbers include both the deaths of military personnel which are the direct results of battle or other military wartime actions, as well as the wartime/ war-related deaths of civilians, which are the results of war induced epidemics, diseases, famines, atrocities etc.

Two of the ten most highly estimated death tolls, have been waged in the last century. These are of course the two World Wars. Most of the others involved China or neighboring peoples.
